The Portuguese Institute of the Sea and Atmosphere (IPMA) has also placed over 50 municipalities in the districts of Braga, Vila Real, Porto, Aveiro, Coimbra, Leiria, Santarém, Lisbon, Portalegre, Beja, Évora and Faro at very high risk. .
Other municipalities in all districts of the mainland, with the exception of Viana do Castelo, are under a high fire threat.
Due to weather conditions, the risk of fire will continue until at least Tuesday.
This risk, defined by IPMA, has five levels, from low to high. Calculations are based on air temperature, relative humidity, wind speed and rainfall over the last 24 hours.
IPMA predicts skies across the continent with periods of medium to high cloud, with the possibility of scattered precipitation later in the day, lower temperatures except for the coast of the southern region, and increased winds on the west coast. and highlands.
The minimum temperature will range from 14 degrees Celsius (in Braga) to 27 (in Faro), and the maximum – from 24 (in Porto) to 40 (in Beja).
