A decree-law has been published to accelerate the promotion of civil servants

This points deduction will only apply once per employee beginning in 2024, with the change in remuneration taking effect on “January 1 of the year in which the employee earns the required number of points” for such change.

The Decree-Law also specifies that “when employees score more than six points, the extra points are taken into account for the purposes of future changes in their pay situation.”

The preamble to the diploma speaks of the effect of freeze periods “on the normal development of careers”, thus intending – and in line with what has been done with teachers – to establish “a special regime to accelerate the development of the careers of statesmen.” hired workers by reducing the number of points required for a mandatory change in salary position.

The measure will also have an impact “on state-owned enterprises integrated into the National Health Service through existing collective bargaining agreements.”

According to the data cited by Presidential Minister Mariana Vieira da Silva, on the day the diploma is approved by the Council of Ministers, this “accelerator” of progress should cover about 350,000 workers, while about 72,000 collect conditions. progress in the next year.
