There are fire stations in Ponte de Lima, Caminha, Ponte da Barca, Vila Praia de Ancora, Monsan, Ponte da Barca and Paredes de Cura.
According to the National Emergency Management and Civil Protection website, the fire alarm was raised at 9:17 p.m. on Saturday and battles continued throughout the night.
