The bodies of the Portuguese who disappeared after the fire in France have already been found. Edmilson Rocha and his girlfriend Edla Martins died in a fire that broke out in the town of Grasse on the French Riviera on August 13.
Portuguese born in Cape Verde have gone missing. Meanwhile, the bodies were identified and transferred to Portugal. Funeral ceremonies will take place this Saturday at the Church of Santa Clara and at the top of São João in Lisbon. The fire killed three people and seriously injured three others.
The family told CM who hoped that Edmilson was among the hospitalized victims, but DNA results showed that the bodies found belonged to the couple. Family members are outraged and say criminals started the fire.
The suspect, a 47-year-old Frenchman, has already been detained. He is in pre-trial detention.
Edmilson and Edla had lived in France for just over a year and had recently moved to the residential area where the fire occurred. Before this, Edmilson lived with his mother in Marville.
