Family finds dog that went missing 12 years ago

An American family from Arizona was surprised to find their dog, which had disappeared from their backyard 12 years ago. In accordance with Fox News, cThanks to the animal’s chip, Maricopa County Animal Control was able to contact Skip Crandall, the latest owner.

Minion was three years old when he was adopted. Seeing its owners again, the animal demonstrated that it still remembered them. He jumped and wagged his tail, and when he returned to the house where he lived, he seemed to still have memories of this space.

“He [O Minion] he was a fantastic little boy. He was a very sweet little bichon. Very playful,” Skip Crandall told Fox News Digital. At that time, the couple’s three children were eight, ten and 12 years old. They loved the animal.

In 2011, the backyard gate was opened, causing the family’s two dogs to escape. At that time, the other animal returned, but Minion did not.

The Crandalls did not give up on Minion and put up posters, went to shelters and asked neighbors to help find the animal. However, they were out of luck. After a month of searching, they decided it was best to accept that the dog would not return.

“We thought there was little chance we’d see him again,” Skip Crandall said. “We imagined the worst. It was very confusing.”

Big and unexpected news came this week. The family received a call from Maricopa County Animal Control that a dog, believed to be a stray, had been found. Chip helped a law enforcement agent get to Skip Crandall.

Skip didn’t believe it and told the agent that he hadn’t seen Minion in 12 years.

“I was shocked. I didn’t even think it was possible that so much time had passed and the dog was still here,” the owner said.

On the day of the reunion, Minion got out of the car in which he was being transported and immediately recognized his owners. The family describes the moment as emotional.

The Bichon Maltese is now 15 years old and not as playful as before. “He’s slow,” he has poor eyesight and already has few teeth.
