The Ikea store in Marshopping, Matosinhos, was evacuated on Wednesday evening after two fire alarms went off. The alarm was raised at 21:50 and firefighters from Matosinhos/Lesa were mobilized to the scene.
The situation may have been caused by a problem with a car that was parked in the parking lot leading to the store. The car’s engine exploded and oil spilled. The resulting vapors caused the fire alarm to go off.
Firefighters quickly resolved the situation on site. The video shows several people calmly leaving the premises. Firefighters consisting of nine people and two vehicles worked at the scene. This warning did not affect the operation of other areas of the shopping center.
