A 14-meter-tall aquarium containing about 1,500 exotic fish exploded early this Friday at a hotel in Berlin, Germany.
About a hundred operatives, advanced German emergency services, were called to the scene.
“Two people were injured by flying glass,” the Berlin police said on Twitter.
It was believed to be the largest cylindrical aquarium in the world, standing 14 meters high, according to the website of DomAquaree, which owns the hotel where the incident took place.
Emergency services blocked the road due to flooding from inside the building. The road and sidewalk were damaged.
Buses were sent to the site to shelter hotel guests who had to leave the building as outside temperatures hovered around -7 degrees Celsius in Berlin.
