A 20-year-old youth lost two fingers on his left hand, leaving a partially torn ring finger, in Aveiro on Tuesday evening when a pyrotechnic device exploded.
The case took place around 22:00 on José Joaquim López de Lima Street, near the Liceu district.
The victim was taken by car to the Aveiro hospital. In the early hours of the morning, the fire brigade of Aveiro Velhos took the young man to the University Hospital of Coimbra for surgery aimed at restoring the function of one of his fingers.
The PSP is investigating the circumstances under which the explosion occurred.
O CM learned that the young man was from Viseu and was studying at the Faculty of Computer Science.
