Meanwhile, three other activists of the Climáximo movement were detained this Wednesday by the PSP after blocking traffic on Rua de São Bento in Lisbon.
Noah Zino said the three youths were taken by PSP to Rato Police Station and will be heard before a judge at 2pm this Wednesday.
According to the collective, three young people sat on the ground around 8am this Wednesday on Rua de São Bento, blocking traffic for about 20 minutes, while other activists distributed leaflets reading: “Knowing that you know about the climate crisis. , what are you going to do?”
In a statement, the movement emphasizes that climate activists, having stopped traffic on Tuesday at the Second Circular, moved the protest “closer to the legislature, in Rua de São Bento,” where the Assembly of the Republic is located.
