Two traffic accidents in Almeirim, about half an hour apart, injured six people and had to be rescued from their vehicles this Saturday.
The second accident occurred at 20:34 on Estrada Nacional 118, next to the entrance to the Compal plant, involving three vehicles, with traffic blocked between Almeirim and Alpiarza.
As a result of the collision, three people were arrested, one of whom was in a very serious condition, and an INEM helicopter was called to take him to hospital in Lisbon.
The causes of the accident, which occurred on a section of road with a double continuous lane, are being investigated by NICAV GNR.
The first traffic accident occurred at around 20:00 on the municipal road 578, which connects Almeirim with Fazendas de Almeirim, next to the Kartodromo, involving two cars, resulting in three injuries, two of whom were taken to hospital departments in Lisbon the condition is considered serious.
The relief operations involved 25 firefighters from Almeirim and Salvaterra, VMER from Santarem and GNR, supported by 9 vehicles.
