The IRS deduction for education expenses, capped at €800 per family, will now include vocational training expenses, according to the state budget proposal for 2024 (OE2024) presented on Tuesday.
Until now, families could deduct 30% of tuition and education expenses from their IRS taxes, up to a maximum of €800.
“An amount corresponding to 30% of the amount incurred as education and training expenses, including vocational training, by any member of a household, with a global limit of €800, is deducted from the IRS fees due to taxpayers,” it said. Budget proposal.
However, the deductible limit remains unchanged from what is already in place.
This Tuesday, the government presented to the Assembly of the Republic the proposed state budget for 2024 (OE2024), which will be discussed and voted on as a whole on October 30 and 31, with a final global vote scheduled for November 29.
