As announced on Tuesday, the GNR Miranda do Douro seized 534 counterfeit products worth €10,680 in an inspection operation that took place in the municipality of Mogadouro in the district of Bragança.
A source from the public relations department of the GNA Braganza command told Lusa that in the case, “a man and a woman, aged 47 and 21 respectively, were accused of counterfeiting money.”
According to the police, as part of an inspection operation aimed at combating counterfeit products, illegal use of trademarks and the sale of counterfeit products, Guard soldiers inspected several vehicles on the way to the Horazis fair, which ended on Monday to Friday in Mogadorou.
The facts were submitted to the Mogador Judicial Court.
The operation was reinforced by elements of the territorial detachments of Braganza, Mirandela, Torre de Moncorvo, the Transit Detachment of Braganza, the Intervention Detachment of the Territorial Command of the Guard and the Financial Action Detachment of the Financial Action Group (UAF) from Porto. .
The GNR confirmed that the main purpose of this type of action is to ensure respect for industrial property rights, essentially aimed at combating counterfeit products, misuse of brands and the sale of counterfeit products.
