Starting this Thursday, Google will roll out three new tools to combat misinformation that will let you “get more context about the images and sources you find,” including “generative search,” the tech company announced.
The corporation said in a statement that on the day Brussels hosts its “Combating Disinformation Online” event, an event in partnership with Google, YouTube and the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, it “will have new ways to help users find the information they need.” quality information and understand what they see online.”
One of the three options is “about this image,” which makes it easier to check the accuracy and context of images you see online (worldwide in English), the company says.
Fact Checking adds image search, which allows journalists and fact checkers “a deeper way to learn about an image or topic (globally)” and, finally, “generative search,” which provides more information about sources.
“We’re starting to experiment with how A.I. [inteligência artificial] Generative can do some of the searching for you and help you search with confidence (US only),” says Google.
