The Archaeological Museum of Catalonia organized a 90-minute visit this Saturday in collaboration with the Catalan Naturism Club, during which visitors could visit the museum naked.
Visitors were able to see the exhibition “Bronzes of Riace”, which contains photographs by Luigi Spina of two large Greek bronze statues of naked warriors from the 5th century BC, discovered in 1972 near Riace, Italy.
“We wanted to make the visit more colorful and not a typical tour,” said guide Edgar Mestre, who also wore no clothes. “We wanted people coming into the museum to feel exactly like the work they saw.”
The museum’s website promised visitors the chance to “admire works posing in the same situation they find themselves in, completely naked and surrounded by other bodies.”
“I feel the same tension as if I were observing with clothes on, but with the difference that we can better understand that nudity has always existed and that bodies should not be a source of shame for anyone,” said health worker Martha , 59 years old. old who attended the exhibition.
