The emergency department at the Conde Susena hospital in Agueda will be closed from 20:00 this Saturday until 8:00 on Sunday, the hospital administration said.
According to a statement from the Centro Hospitalar do Baixo Vouga (CHBV), which operates hospitals in Agueda, Aveiro and Estarreja, the medical scales could not be completed.
“Despite the efforts made to comply with medical examination schedules, restrictions are expected in the operation of the main emergency service at the Conde de Susena hospital in Agueda,” he states.
The statement said these restrictions “will be felt between 20:00 on November 4 and 8:00 on November 5.”
During this period, the Emergency Department will be closed, meaning only patients will be seen until 6:00 pm today.
“If necessary, users should contact the nearest hospital departments,” he advises.
“CHBV calls for everyone’s understanding, regretting in future the possible restrictions that this situation may cause and which, despite all efforts, could not be overcome,” the statement said.
The hospital administration also notes that “timely notification was sent to CODU/INEM, fire brigades, Saúde24, the referral hospital and nearby hospitals.”
