Eleven bars are closed due to rough seas

Eleven sea bars are closed to navigation and one is closed due to a forecast of heavy seas, prompting the Institute of the Sea and the Atmosphere (IPMA) to place ten areas under a yellow warning level.

According to information available on the Portuguese Navy website, bars in Aveiro, Caminha, Douro, Esposende, Figueira da Foz, Vila Praia de Ancora, Povoa de Varzim, Viana do Castelo, Vila do Conde , Sao Martinho do Porto and Ericeira are closed. to all navigation.

Leixoes Bar is closed to boats under 35 meters in length.

Due to the disturbance, IPMA has placed the areas of Viana do Castelo, Braga, Porto, Aveiro, Coimbra, Leiria and Lisbon under a yellow warning until 18:00 this Monday, as well as Beja, Faro and Setúbal until 12:00, forecasting northerly -western waves with a height of 4 to 5 meters. .

A yellow warning is issued by the IPMA whenever a risk situation arises for certain activities depending on the meteorological situation.

In recent days, parts of the coast of mainland Portugal have been under the most severe red warning due to sea conditions.
