Alfie Lewis, 15, died on Tuesday after being shot outside a primary school in Leeds, UK. The young man was taken to hospital, but he did not survive his injuries. The family paid tribute to the victim this afternoon.
“I don’t have words to describe how devastated we all are. Alfie, you were one in a million. You will never know how much your family and friends love you. We love you so much. I love you more than words can express. let’s say,” he wrote to the family, quoted Mirror.
Local police reported that the young man was detained, but did not specify the motive for the crime.
According to the British tabloid, Alfie had gone to pick up a child from St Margaret’s Primary School at the time of the attack.
The educational institution shared a recording of the incident and expressed solidarity with the family of the deceased.
Authorities said they are working to find answers to what happened to the young man in order to bring some peace to his family.
“We ask people to avoid unhelpful and often inaccurate speculation on social media, which could cause unnecessary distress to the family and create problems that divert police attention from responding to this terrible incident. The exception is that we would naturally like to hear from anyone who witnessed any part of this incident,” said the lead investigator in the case.
