António Costa signed this Thursday the order to dismiss Vitor Escaria from the post of head of administration. Thiago Vasconcelos, the prime minister’s military adviser, fills the seat left vacant by one of nine accused in the investigation into the lithium and green hydrogen business that led to Antonio Costa’s sacking.
Vitor Escaria is the fourth of five detainees who will be heard by a criminal judge this Thursday. On Tuesday, during searches at the prosecutor’s office 75 thousand and 800 euros in cash were seized from the defendant’s office.
An investigation into lithium and green hydrogen projects led to Antonio Costa’s resignation on Tuesday after the ministry said the prime minister was the subject of an independent Supreme Court investigation.
