The Judicial Police (JP) dismantled a laboratory for processing cocaine paste into cocaine hydrochloride in Gondomar. Drugs arrived daily from South America.
It was identified “with a residence located in a rural and isolated area, in the parish of Gondomar, Guimarães, which served as a dormitory for a laboratory of considerable size, where transformation was carried out daily and continuously by two people. the process of processing cocaine paste into an illegal final product suitable for human consumption,” can be read in the PS statement sent to the editorial office.
According to the same body, the international network was based on foreign citizens of at least two different nationalities who arrived in the country several months ago.
The two men rented a house where they placed various materials consisting of acids, chemicals, artifacts, fans, presses, decanters, which they used to carry out the transformation process.
“After signaling one of the main elements of the network in question, it was possible to assess how the organization works: “couriers” arrive almost daily, delivering hidden cocaine paste from South America. Delivery of an illegal product to another person, and the final destination was a laboratory where two more people worked on a permanent and exclusive basis,” the joint venture reports.
An operation was launched last Friday that culminated in the arrest of four foreign nationals: three at the crime scene and one pursuant to an arrest warrant issued by the Criminal Police Department.
During the police investigation, approximately 50 kilograms of coca paste and cocaine were seized, which is enough for 250 thousand individual doses. Firearms and ammunition, a car and more than 17 thousand euros were also seized.
To dismantle the laboratory, the JV enlisted the support of the ANEPC Ave sub-regional command and the support services of the Guimarães City Council.
The four men charged with offenses related to aggravated drug trafficking, criminal enterprise, money laundering, possession of prohibited weapons and ultimately (requires consolidation of evidence) environmental pollution posing a general hazard were last Saturday presented to the court in shifts. in Vila Nova de Famalicão and were placed in pre-trial detention.
