Portuguese rider Miguel Oliveira (Aprilia) apologized this Saturday for the accident that occurred during the sprint race of the Qatar MotoGP Grand Prix, which also forced the Spaniard Aleix Espargaro (Aprilia) out of the race.
“First of all, I would like to apologize to Aleix Espargaro for interrupting the race,” Miguel Oliveira wrote on his social networks after colliding with the rear of the Spaniard’s motorcycle.
After contact, both fell, as did Italy’s Enea Bastianini (Ducati), who was unable to avoid Espargaro’s bike.
The accident injured two Aprilia riders.
“Secondly, my weekend ends with a fracture of my right shoulder blade,” said Miguel Oliveira.
The pilot, a native of Almada, also thanked everyone who “supported him during these difficult times.”
“I feel motivated and eager to continue pursuing my dream here with the whole team,” concluded Miguel Oliveira.
