Andre Ventura says “the law must understand itself” to become an alternative to PS

President Chegi said that “the right must understand itself” if it wants to be an alternative to the Socialist Party government. In an interview with CMTVAndre Ventura emphasized his desire to lead Portugal after the political scenario remained with the absolute majority of António Costa.

Asked about the possibility of a coalition with the SDP to form an executive, the leader said he had no intention of giving “anything to someone who doesn’t want it” despite polls showing the Social Democrats would have an advantage over the alliance.

“The poll results are clear: Chega has almost doubled, and the SDP is falling,” he emphasized.

Comes with PS alternative

For André Ventura, it is essential that the next elections allow the creation of a government alternative to the PS, given the “maneuvers” and “deeds” that have become public in recent months. “Unfortunately, the PS has too much power in Portugal,” he said.

Ventura noted that you don’t have to be a “witch” to understand that socialist management has several problems. “This socialist grinding machine not only forces people [do PS] in those places where they want, as if necessary, they carry out procedures if they want to destroy someone,” he said.

Justice reform and immigration policy

The lawyer highlighted justice reform as one of the topics that will be discussed during Chegi’s election campaign.

“We must draw attention to this culture of corruption. We must put an end to it. The way decisions are made in Portugal must improve. Let us draw attention to this culture of corruption and put an end to it,” he stressed. .

Asked about immigration in Portugal, Ventura said measures must be taken to protect the country. He said controlled immigration must be pursued to ensure crime rates do not rise.

“We’re not going to tell immigrants they have to leave. Portugal needs immigrants. We want controlled immigration,” he explained.

Ventura also said that he does not support the “uncontrolled growth of Islamic immigration” and that Portugal should learn from the example of European countries.

Chegi’s growth

Andre Ventura said he hopes Chega is expressive enough to be able to influence policy. “Voters want change, and they will give this feeling of change. My opponent in these elections will be the PS,” he emphasized.
