A head-on collision between a car and a truck resulted in three injuries, one of them serious, on the regional street Estrada 230, in the parish of Muras, Vila Nova da Rainha, in Tondela, towards Tondela Carregal do Sal.
The driver of the car was driving in the wrong direction, towards Carregal do Sal Tondela, and the driver of the truck was driving in the opposite direction. He still tried to avoid the collision, but ended up crashing head-on and overturning, taking up both lanes of traffic.
The driver of the car, a 60-year-old man, suffered serious injuries and had to be resuscitated by emergency responders after suffering cardiopulmonary arrest. The other two injured were a 53-year-old woman and a 55-year-old man, with injuries considered minor.
The incident was reported at 14:06.
Volunteer firefighters from Tondela, INEM and GNR were present at the scene.
The injured were taken to Viseu Hospital.
