The risk in PJ is worth four times more than in PSP and GNR.

Judicial police inspectors will receive a bonus of 996 euros, paid 14 times a year. The amount, double the previously allocated amount, was approved by the Council of Ministers and was justified by “performing functions in risky, unhealthy and difficult conditions.” The measure is causing controversy among PSP and GNR members, who receive far less for the same risks they take.

The PJ risk surcharge will also be paid to scientific police specialists – the monthly amount varies from 797 to 864 euros depending on their role – and to members of the special PJ security service – 664 euros per month.

The Ministry of Justice, which oversees the joint venture, also emphasizes that in April it increased the allowance for picketing and prevention to 1,476 euros, an 80% increase compared to the amount received before.

This increase in the judicial police is disputed by the PSP and GNR trade unions, the security forces controlled by the Ministry of Internal Administration, due to the difference in the meanings of the functions and the additions to the risks. According to specialists from these two police forces, where basic salaries are lower, the patrol allowance is set at 59 euros, and the risk allowance is 14.5% of the salary. In practice, a newbie GNR receives about 280 euros in this bonus, which is almost four times less than a “colleague” PJ with the same experience.
