Montenegro says the “invented” governance is “harmful to people’s lives” and continues to operate to this day.

This Saturday, the PSD president said that the government’s “cunning” policies did not end in 2019, but continue to this day and are harmful “to people’s lives.”

At a major meeting of the National Strategic Council (CEN) held in Lisbon, Luís Montenegro called on the Portuguese not to “be intimidated” by the “political narrative”, even presented by the media, that governance is a “contrivance” successfully”

“No, the contraption with three parties or just PS was harmful to people’s lives,” he argued, believing that it was because of this executive that more Portuguese were forced to turn to private companies in both the health and education sectors .

In a room filled with hundreds of people discussing the PSD’s election program, Montenegro said the “stubbornness, the ideological blockade” of recent years in areas such as health, education or housing were “clearly responsible for the loss of quality of life in fundamental areas of life for the Portuguese.”

The PSD Chairman also defended the thesis that this management was not limited to the 2015-2019 legislature, in which the PS had agreements on parliamentary influence signed with the PKP, BU and the Greens.”

“It continued out of conviction. The cunning government still exists. Has anyone noticed any difference since the invention went from being written on paper to being just for talking or something informal? No one noticed this difference, even with an absolute majority, PS has always remained the basis of the policy of invention,” he said.

In his half-hour speech, the PSD leader reiterated that the two most prominent candidates for the post of PS secretary general, Pedro Nuno Santos and José Luis Carneiro, are “absolutely complicit in this path.”

The PSD president believes that “never since the advent of clever governments” have so many Portuguese turned to private health systems, and so many secondary school students (25%) also attended this sector, “those with more money”.

“There is a lot of injustice being created in Portuguese society because of the policy of contraptions,” he warned, noting that it was during the Socialist regime that “the housing market was closed.”

The PSD President also made a commitment: if he becomes Prime Minister after the early legislative elections on March 10, the new institutional symbol of the government – which has caused controversy due to the simplification of the image, the removal of the armillary sphere, angles or castles – will no longer be the standard. receiving many standing ovations from the audience.

“That makes all the difference: in our project we don’t force our historical references and references to identity to succumb to the idea of more sophistication, we don’t have that. Enough with plastic politics,” he said.
