Boris Johnson is being heard on his case against the Covid-19 pandemic

Former British Prime Minister Boris Johnson is being interviewed this Wednesday as part of an inquiry into the handling of the Covid-19 pandemic, for which he has been heavily criticized.

On the first of two days of hearings at the public inquiry in London, Johnson began his evidence by apologizing “for the pain, loss and suffering of Covid victims”.

The speech was interrupted by four people who stood in the courtroom holding signs that read “The Dead Can’t Hear Your Apologies” and were escorted out of the courtroom by security guards.

Boris Johnson resigned as a member of the British Parliament in June this year due to the “Partygate” affair, which involved photographs of the former prime minister partying during the Covid-19 lockdown.

The public inquiry will evaluate decision-making through written and oral evidence from former and current ministers and officials.
