The president of the University of Pennsylvania resigned from her position on Saturday following an outcry following congressional testimony about anti-Semitism on campus that was also criticized by the White House.
“Liz Magill has voluntarily resigned as president of the University of Pennsylvania,” Scott L. Bock, chairman of the elite school’s board of trustees, said in a statement, adding that Magill misspoke during “disastrous testimony” before Congress.
Last week, “Magill made a very unfortunate mistake, similar to that of the two university leaders sitting next to him, after five hours of aggressive questioning by a US Congressional committee.”
