A fire in a precariously built house in Vilarello, Alijo municipality, left a family of five homeless.
The fire started in the tent fireplace while the family was still sleeping on Sunday morning. It was a 50-year-old woman who noticed the flames, immediately woke up and warned the rest of her family to leave the house. The flames spread quickly, the wooden planks caught fire and the walls collapsed, causing the tents to be almost completely destroyed as they were covered with plastic.
And despite the signs of destruction, the washing machine was still saved. Alijo firefighters, consisting of 14 officers and six vehicles, were called to the scene. Ultimately, the fire did not reach the other tents where more people live.
ABOUT CM You are aware that the Alijo City Council has provided accommodation for the displaced family in a guest house in the city and that the Municipal Civil Protection will continue to monitor this case.
