TV presenter and businessman Nuno Graciano has died at the age of 54. He has been hospitalized in a Cascais hospital since Monday in a coma after suffering a stroke in the bathroom.
The TV presenter’s wake will take place this Friday at 6pm at the Nossa Senhora do Cabo church in Linda a Velha, Lisbon, the family said in a statement on social media. The funeral will take place on Saturday at 13:00.
Graciano was one of the faces of CMTV, where he hosted the program Manhã CM together with Maya. The TV presenter’s health status became known on Wednesday thanks to a statement published on the social network Instagram.
Nuno Graciano made his television debut in 1994 in the series Doctors and Engineers on TVI. He participated in the radio station format for two years. Ten years later, Graciano joined SIC. He hosted daytime entertainment on the radio station in “Contacto” (2006–2009) together with Rita Ferro Rodriguez and later with Maya. Over the next three years, he presented the program “Não Há Crise” and briefly participated in morning shows with Vanessa Oliveira in “Companhia das Manhãs”.
Together with TV presenter Nuno Eiro, a colleague from SIC, he created the group Pimba Nunos e Nunettes, which released the album Pimba Chique in 2010.
From 2013 to 2015, Graziano hosted the entertainment program Manhã CM on CMTV, re-editing the duet with Maya and becoming one of the first faces in the history of the channel.
During his absence from television, he founded a brand of certified regional products from the Serra da Estrela, namely cheeses, called “Tio Careca”.
He returned to television through Canal 11 in 2019 to present the program “O Meu Clube”, dedicated to the emblems of the minor divisions of Portuguese football.
A year later, Graciano announced a new profession as a home seller and became commercial director of Remax.
In 2021, he ran for the Chega party in the Lisbon city council. Chega received 4.41% of the votes, and Nuno Graciano expressed satisfaction with the result, despite the fact that not a single council member could be elected. After the elections, he clarified that he never belonged to the party led by Andre Ventura.
The presenter entered Big Brother Famosos TVI in 2022, ending his stint on the reality show in seventh place.
