Former Infrastructure Minister Pedro Nuno Santos continues to contest the elections for PS Secretary General, having won 10 of the 12 constituencies already counted, according to preliminary data that CM had access.
The candidate is leading in the districts of Aveiro, Bragança, Castelo Branco, Évora, Lisbon, Guarda, Leiria, Portalegre, Setúbal and Viana do Castelo. José Luis Carneiro, Minister of the Interior, wins the districts of Oeste and Vila Real.
The constituency where there is the most significant difference is Aveiro: Pedro Nuno Santos received 1,299 votes and José Luis Carneiro 404.
PS activists continue to vote this Saturday to elect the next Secretary General in the federations of Algarve, Baixo Alentejo, Braga, Coimbra, Porto, Santarem, Viseu, Azores and Madeira.
The results will be announced at PS national headquarters this evening at 11:30 pm.
