It has been 10 years since PPR soldier Bruno Chaigno was killed during a restaurant robbery in Pinhal Novo, Palmela, and his parents still have not received their survivor’s pension.
The compensation decision was made in 2015, two years after the tragedy, but it wasn’t until July of this year that Social Security presented its first pension proposal. However, only one of the ascenders was counted. According to the family’s lawyer, Ana Regina Martins, the institution says the parents received compensation at the time, which serves to amortize the amount provided by the state. ABOUT morning Post I contacted Social Security for clarification, but they did not respond.
The soldier’s parents, Alcinda and Sergio, are unable to grieve and are under independent psychological monitoring, as the PNP only provided support during the first weeks. Bruno Chaigno, who was 27, is remembered as a man who enjoyed following the law in a way that his parents did not.
