Venezuelan newspaper blocked by authorities

The management of the Venezuelan newspaper El Carabobeño reported that the digital portal was “blocked” by the country’s authorities, launching a campaign to help the population “overcome censorship.”

El Carabobeño, which has been prohibited from distributing in print since 2016 due to barriers imposed by the Venezuelan government on obtaining paper, explained that “the portal was blocked by Cantv operators [estatal]Movistar, Digitel, Inter and Net Uno do not allow subscribers to receive information about the latest news offered every day through the website.”
