A woman gave birth to a giant baby that stands almost 59 centimeters tall and weighs more than seven kilograms this Wednesday in Amazonas, Brazil. According to Mirror, Anderson Santos was born by caesarean section at the Padre Colombo Hospital in Parintins.
Doctors believe that this is the largest child ever born in this Brazilian state.
Claydian Santos dos Santos, 27, visited the hospital for a routine obstetric checkup, but doctors quickly realized that Anderson would be much larger than other newborns and that the pregnancy could not be full-term. As a result, the next day, a caesarean section was scheduled.
According to the doctors of the hospital, the child is stable and has no abnormalities.
Anderson is so big that all the baby clothes her parents bought her don’t fit. The hospital has launched a fundraising campaign to help the family. The institution accepts donations of diapers and clothes for children aged nine months to one year.
According to the Guinness Book of World Records, the heaviest baby in history was a 10.2 kg boy born in Aversa, Italy in September 1955.
