The platform, which brings together 11 PSP trade unions and GNR associations, decided this Friday after a meeting in Porto to sever relations with the Ministry of Internal Administration (MAI).
The movement, which promises a “close challenge” to the government, has planned concentrations/strikes for the 31st, carried out in accordance with trade union legislation. After a break from Christmas and New Year celebrations, trade union and association leaders are back to protesting against the government’s decision to approve the judicial police deputation without taking into account the PSP and GNR.
The break with the MAI arose “due to the lack of interest, time and incompetence” of this body that oversees the police. The Platform also states that “if the police had a stab knife, perhaps the selective deafness of government would be cured.”
