A passenger car crash early Wednesday morning injured four people, one of them seriously, on the Estrada Nacional 393-1 highway connecting Vila Nova de Milfontes and Odemira. The vehicle skidded and hit a pole hard.
The seriously injured woman is a 33-year-old woman who, after being stabilized at the scene, was taken by firefighters, accompanied by the SIV de Odemira, to Portimão Hospital. The slightly injured were taken to the emergency department of Beja Hospital.
The alarm was raised at 3:57 a.m. and 15 rescuers were involved in the rescue operations, supported by seven vehicles from the Odemir Fire Department, the Vila Nova de Milfontes Fire Department, the VMER from the Litoral Alentejuno Hospital and the SIV from Odemir.
The GNR arrived at the scene to direct traffic and took responsibility for the incident.
