Four obstetrics and gynaecology emergency departments and one paediatric emergency department were closed on Tuesday, according to information posted on the National Health Service (SNS) website at 9.45am.
Today, the emergency obstetric and gynecological departments of the Santarém Hospital, the Nossa Senhora do Rosário Hospital in Barreiro and the Dr. Manoel Constancio Hospital in Abrantes are closed.
The SNS website also indicated that the obstetric emergency department at the Portimão Hospital and the pediatric emergency department at the Nossa Senhora do Rosário (Barreiro) Hospital will also be closed.
The Children’s Emergency Department of the Additional Health Care Service in Viseu is open from 20:15 to 23:00, while in the Amadora-Sintra Hospital it is open from 8:00 to 20:00 and is available at night.
Hospital Prof. Dr. Fernando Fonseca, known as Hospital Amadora-Sintra, also has emergency obstetric and gynecological services from 8:00 pm to 12:00 pm and is open throughout the day.
In addition, the São Francisco Xavier Hospital in Lisbon has an obstetrics and gynecology emergency response from 21:00 to 24:00, and the São Bernardo Hospital in Setúbal has an obstetrics and gynecology emergency response from 09:00 to 24:00.
In these areas, services are reserved for internal emergency cases or those referred by the Patient Emergency Centre (CODU) of the National Institute of Medical Emergencies (INEM) or through the SNS 24 line.
