Nurses are the health workers most targeted

In 2023, 1,036 cases of violence against nurses, doctors, technical assistants and operational assistants were recorded, which is a 37% decrease compared to 2022 (1,632 cases).

The majority of victims were nurses (35%), 28% were doctors, 23% were technical assistants and 10% were operational assistants.

Psychological abuse (67%) is the most obvious, followed by physical abuse (14%) and mental harassment (5%). From 2022 until the end of the first half of 2023, 302 criminal situations were registered, 62 investigative/disciplinary cases were initiated and 458 cases of industrial accidents were initiated.

There were also 4,040 days of absence from work as a result of episodes of violence.
