The Bilbobus staff calls for strikes for tomorrow and a 24-hour strike for Thursday

The staff of Bilbao’s urban transport service, Bilbobus, resumes mobilizations this week with strikes this Tuesday and the call for a strike on Thursday, “as there is no approach from the company to address the conflict, nor is there mediation from the City Council.” , as explained by the works council in a press release.

Specifically, the strikes will take place this Tuesday, January 16, from 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. and from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., as well as a 24-hour strike on Thursday the 18th.

The Bilbobus staff “continues to ask citizens for understanding, in the face of the company’s non-compliance and the complicit silence of the Bilbao City Council, which is aware of them and has not wanted to listen to our fair complaints at any time,” say the representatives of the company. template.

They recall that the company “repeatedly” fails to comply with rulings favorable to the workers and, among other issues, “violates the right of stock exchange workers hired at 62%, preventing their access to a full-time contract, in addition to having without updating their salaries since 2021, with the loss of purchasing power that this represents for the workforce.”
