Air Force pilot makes history: first to compete and win Miss America pageant

She works as an Air Force pilot and was crowned Miss America this Sunday. Her name is Madison Marsh, she’s 22 years old, and she’s the first soldier to enter and win a beauty pageant in the United States, the magazine reports. People.

“It’s fantastic to be able to bring these two sides of my life together and hopefully make a difference so that they understand that we don’t need to create restrictions in our lives,” the young woman was quoted as saying by the newspaper. New York Post.

Madison graduated from the United States Air Force Academy and began working last year. Despite her career, she decided to participate in beauty pageants and won Miss Colorado in May 2023.

She later joined the Miss America pageant, which has its finals this weekend. During the competition, the young woman spoke about drugs in America and remembered her mother’s struggle with pancreatic cancer.

When asked about her goals as Miss America, Madison said she wanted to show “how to lead with passion.”

“You can achieve anything. The sky is the limit and the only person stopping you is you,” Madison Marsh said in an interview posted on Miss America’s Instagram.
