This Tuesday, the judicial police carry out searches at the premises of the National Institute of Emergency Medicine (INEM) in Porto and Lisbon. In its statement, INEM confirms these measures and states that they are related to “a specific procedure for the recruitment of human resources.”
“INEM naturally cooperates with the authorities by providing all requested documentation,” one can read.
According to sources contacted by Lusa, the authorities’ searches cover INEM’s board of directors in Lisbon, the northern delegation and the Gaia logistics base.
The information was provided this morning by CNN, which revealed that during the investigation, in addition to the facts of malfeasance and falsification of documents in the procurement of funds for medical assistance, there are still suspicions of corruption in public procurement rules. This was announced by the Department of Investigation and Criminal Affairs (DIAP) of the Regional Porto.
