The trial of a man accused of killing his wife in Felgueiras, Porto district, will begin on February 10 in a Penafiel court, a court source said on Monday.
According to information on the website of the Porto Public Prosecutor’s Office, on June 6, 2022, at around 7:50 a.m., the defendant, who lives in Lusada, went to the shoe factory where his wife worked in the Refontura district of Felgueiras, as a result of which, on a public road, he fired a shotgun and hit her in the chest.
According to the prosecution, when the 46-year-old victim was already lying on the ground, she received a second shot fired by her husband in the abdomen, which led to her death.
The alleged killer surrendered at the GNR post in Lusada a few hours later.
In this trial, the suspect will answer for the crime of aggravated murder and for the crime of possession of a prohibited weapon.
The accused is awaiting trial in a pre-trial detention center.
