Later this week, about fifty traders who worked outside of Braga’s municipal market will demand in court that the fair be returned to its place of origin. The fair, which took place on Thursdays and Saturdays near the square, was suspended in 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
“It is written that the stall owners will return to the municipal market, and this is what we are going to demand in court,” lawyer Francisco Peixoto said in a statement to Luce on Monday.
The recalled stall owners say there are promises, and so they decided to go to court.
This Monday this question was discussed at the meeting of the chamber, and Ricardo Rio suggested that he did not want the fair to return to the center. “It was a terrible decision, and it compromised the safety of working at home,” Rio said, recalling that the fair was held next to a nursing home.
