This Wednesday, Catherine Maher announced that she had stepped down as CEO of Web Summit less than three months after taking over. He will lead the North American media group of National Public Radio (NPR).
“Important news: I am pleased to announce that I will take on the role of CEO of NPR, effective in late March. NPR has been a part of my soundscape my whole life, and I credit its reporting with piqued my curiosity.” who set me on the path to becoming the person I am today,” he writes on the social network X.
And adds: “Unfortunately, this means that I will be stepping down as CEO of Web Summit on March 1st. I really enjoyed my time at Web Summit. I was impressed by the talent, energy and, frankly, the overall good spirit of the team, and that appreciation only grew with each passing week.”
As for National Public Radio, Catherine Maher says it “reflects much of what” she believes in, such as “the importance of civic institutions, high-quality public information and our universal human tendency to be curious.” “I am thrilled to join this wonderful institution and this important mission,” she emphasizes.
