The Madeira Parliament will not discuss either this year’s budget or the vote of no confidence in the regional government (PSD/CDS-PP) presented by the PS and Chega, the President of the Legislative Assembly said on Monday.

“In view of the resignation of the chairman of the regional government, which implies the resignation of the entire regional government in accordance with the Constitution, Statute and Regulations, the Conference of Representatives decided to cancel the discussion of the budget and investment plan on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday,” José Manuel Rodrigues said after meetings with parties that have seats in the Legislative Assembly of the region.

The votes of no confidence presented by the PS and Chega to the executive led by Miguel Albuquerque will also no longer be discussed as their supporters have withdrawn it, as the dismissal of the island’s chief executive will be published this Monday.
