The young 19-year-old swimmer, who became world champion in the 50m butterfly last Monday, clocked 51.17 seconds, a new national record.
This Saturday the athlete rejoiced at winning his first medal on his debut in the 100m butterfly final at the World Aquatics Championships, acknowledging the difficulty of the race.
“It was a difficult race, but I want to thank my colleagues and those who support me. Thank you,” the swimmer began.
