The Inter-Union Platform of Firefighters of the Local Administration, which includes the unions of the Lisbon Municipality, the Public Administration and the National Union of Professional Firefighters, will meet on Thursday, scheduled to start at 10:30, before the Council of Ministers said in a statement.
Among various demands, they are asking for an update to the risk subsidy; constant availability premium; consideration of the personal status of professional firefighters in the local administration; updating salary tables; revision of the retirement age; recognition of a rapidly growing profession and a “fair and adequate” system of promotion and career development.
In a statement, they say that “the unions have not stopped demanding answers from the government, as well as from parties and candidates in the next elections.”
