A team of seven firefighters, supported by two vehicles from the Alverca Volunteer Corporation, have been searching since 4:05 p.m. for the body, which was picked up and dumped by a train about 100 meters north of the station at this location in the municipality of Vila Franca de Xira.
“We received an alert shortly after 16:00 from the Subregional Civil Protection Command of Greater Lisbon. We are talking about a collision with the alleged release of a body. The area where this happened, between Alverca station and the railway crossing, what exists there is usually not intended for pedestrians. It is surrounded by bushes,” he explained to CM Alberto Fernandez, chief of the Alverca fire department.
“CP has also sent technical experts to assist in the search,” he added.
On the Northern Railway section where the alleged collision occurred, trains operate in two directions. The same thing keeps happening.
