Mahmoud Fattouh, a two-month-old baby, died of starvation at Al Shifa Hospital in the Gaza Strip on Friday. The boy’s death came two days after the United Nations warned of an “explosive rise in child mortality” due to the war between Israel and Hamas.
According to Al Jazeera, Mahmoud died of acute malnutrition.
“We saw a woman with a child on her lap screaming for help. The boy seemed to be taking his last breath. We took him to the hospital and it turned out that he was suffering from acute malnutrition.
