President Chegi warned on Tuesday evening that his party “must stay” and considered that the numbers the PSD brought to the campaign were “no longer worth anything to the Portuguese.”
“Regime commentator Marques Mendes said that if it weren’t for Chega, the AD would have won the elections, the Socialists would probably have said the same, but the big news we have to tell everyone, for the PS and PSD, is that Don’t be mistaken “We are here to stay and we will win the legislative elections on March 10,” he said.
Andre Ventura spoke at a dinner/rally in Évora with the head of the list, Rui Cristina (ex-PSD), which was attended by about 300 supporters.
The Chega leader once again stated that the PS and PSD “are the past” and “are no longer an alternative,” countering that Chega is “the future of Portugal.”
“Luis Montenegro may well walk around the country and say that he is an alternative. Durau Barroso may well say that voting for Chegu will lead to nothing, Cavaco Silva may well say that voting for Chegu will lead to nothing, Santana Lopez. You may well say that voting for Chegu will lead nowhere. They can all be collected in one bag because they are no longer worth anything to the Portuguese or to Portugal,” he criticized.
Andre Ventura said that the PS and PSD brought “old glory” and “mummies” to the election campaign, even talking about a “skeleton parade” in which “a new skeleton appears every day.”
“The Portuguese want the future, they don’t want the past because the past was not good. It has made us increasingly poor, further and further from the European average, it has forced young people to emigrate, pensioners have become poorer.” , he ruled.
Stating that they were convinced that “they could nullify the growth of Chega”, Andre Ventura was convinced that Chega would continue to grow “no matter what they do” because “it is born of the deep dissatisfaction of the Portuguese people with the state that they control.” the country has arrived, and for this they bear a great responsibility.”
And he rejected the SDP leader’s claim that Chega was losing votes to the AD, countering that he “saw the exact opposite.”
“Now there is only one alternative to these leftists, which is destroying us, and this alternative is not me, but us, this alternative is Chega,” he emphasized.
The Chegi leader also said that he does not want to “believe that the PS will win this election again” and stated that “this SDP is not much different from what the PS is.”
Andre Ventura called for a vote for Chega, which he called “a project for the coming decades.”
“The changes we are going to make will not only be visible in the coming months and years, it will be a completely new country that will be born from here and that will make those who laid the foundations and foundations of our culture and our country proud,” he said.
At the end of his speech, President Chega made a mistake and said that he was asked to save “Portugal from democracy,” later correcting it to “socialism.”
“In fact, our democracy needs a lot of changes,” he said afterwards.
Earlier, the head of the Evora list, Rui Cristina, gave a speech in which he criticized the “elite,” repeating that “they promise, talk a lot, think poorly, do little and decide nothing.”
Candidate Chegi, who left the PSD in January, also believed that “change is only possible under Andre Ventura.”
