Porto holds a 1-0 lead over Arsenal in the quarters race

This Tuesday, Porto will face Arsenal in London in the second leg of the Champions League round of 16, in which they will try to defend the 1-0 lead they achieved against the English.

Galeno’s goal in the 90th + 4th minute of the first leg, held on February 21 at the Dragao Stadium, opens up even more encouraging prospects for Porto in the match scheduled at the Londoners’ stadium, which starts at 20:00. The Frenchman Clément Turpin will judge him.

The Dragons have never managed to win England in European competition, but they have already drawn three times (twice with Manchester United and once with Liverpool), which is enough to now reach the quarter-finals, the stage at which the team has coached Sergio Conceição’s last strike of the 2020/21 season.

Facing difficulties in League One, in which they sit third, seven points behind leaders Sporting (who have played one game less), Porto are trying to avoid the same fate they suffered in the Round of 16. season 2009/10. Champions League when they beat Arsenal 2-1 at home before losing 5-0 in the English capital.

Manchester City, the defending champions, Real Madrid, the record holder of the most trophies (14), Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich have already qualified and are also awaiting the result of another match on Tuesday, between Barcelona and Naples (1:1 in the first match) and two on Wednesday: Atletico Madrid – Inter (0-1) and Borussia Dortmund – PSV Eindhoven (1-1).
