The trial of Fernando Madureira, leader of the support group Super Dragões, is scheduled to resume at 9 a.m. this Thursday. The “Monkey”, who is in pre-trial detention, must follow the progress of the trial via video conference.
Hugo “Polaco”, also in preventive custody, has already arrived at the Bolhão court in Porto.
The case involved physical confrontations between the accused and approximately 200 Sport Lisboa fans in Benfica, next to the Porto metro station, before a roller hockey match between Porto and the Reds, counted as part of the Europa League sporting competition. Porto fans also threw stones at PSP members. They claim they were also attacked with bottles.
Although he was identified by one of the victims, Fernando Madureira denied any involvement in the attacks.
Given all the involvement in this process and in the Operation Praetorian process, the maximum fine may change.

“Monkey” will not be heard
Fernando Madureira will be present at the hearing, but will not testify.
‘There were clear signs of what was in the making’: police are the first witnesses to be heard
A PSP agent who was patrolling the area on the day of the clashes was the first witness to come forward. The policeman says some aspects of trade secrecy cannot be mentioned, but there were “clear signs” of what was in store.
“We had a briefing. We knew what kind of fans would be there and we knew what we were going for. There were clear signs of what was in the making,” he says.
Police say Fernando Madureira and Carneiro were dressed in black with scarves and hoods to prevent identification.
